Maui Island Plan Chapter 10 — IMPLEMENTATION CHAPTER
The Maui island Plan is currently being reviewd by the council and does not reflect many of the important community recommendations that were made by the General Island Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC). Those recommendations were the voice of our communities and they have been largely cut out of the final version. Please take a moment to educate yourself and make your voice heard by the council!
Chapter 10. Implementation (Council Planning Committee Proposal – May 2014) This is the version of Chapter 10 that was passed by the Council’s Planning Committee and will be the subject of a Public Hearing by the full County Council at 6pm on Wednesday evening, May 14, 2014. Residents and community associations may testify that evening.
The Council is expected to take a final vote on this chapter at its 9am, Tuesday, May 27, 2014 meeting.
Maui Island Plan Informational Presentation provides a background to the Maui Island Plan process and some important recommendations, made by the GPAC, which have been deleted in the proposed Council version.
It is VERY IMPORTANT that all council members hear from us! Please let them know your thoughts on the Maui Island Plan and that you expect to be represented.
Please TESTIFY on this Wednesday, May 14 at the Public Hearing and if you are unable to come in person please email your testimony to firstname.lastname@example.org.
